This guide walks you through troubleshooting three common issues with the Creality Scan Bridge and the Ferret WiFi Wireless Bridge:
- Issue 1: The computer cannot find the WiFi signal from the Scan Bridge / WiFi Wireless Bridge.
- Issue 2: The computer connects to the WiFi hotspot, but CrealityScan cannot detect the scanner.
- Issue 3: WiFi is connected and the software detects the scanner, but the scanning frame rate is low, or the connection drops frequently during scanning.
¶ Troubleshooting and Solutions
Step 1: Check Hardware Status via Indicator Lights
Scan Bridge indicator lights:
| Indicator Status |
Device Status |
| Solid blue |
Scan Bridge is powering on |
| Flashing blue |
Scan Bridge is powered on; phone/computer can find the Creality_Scan_Pocket-xxxx WiFi signal |
| Solid green |
Scanner has connected to the Scan Bridge; phone/computer has successfully connected to the Scan Bridge’s WiFi hotspot |
| Solid red |
Hardware abnormality, possibly a hardware failure. Please contact after-sales support for further confirmation. |
Ferret WiFi Wireless Bridge indicator lights:
| Indicator Status |
Device Status |
| Red → green on startup |
Normal startup process |
| Solid blue |
WiFi is broadcasting normally; phone/computer can find the Ferret-xxxx WiFi signal |
| Alternating red, green, blue |
Hardware abnormality, possibly a hardware failure. Please contact after-sales support for further confirmation. |
Note: For the Ferret WiFi Wireless Bridge, a successful connection cannot be determined by indicator lights alone; it can only be confirmed through CrealityScan.
-
Confirm the indicator lights show a normal status. If abnormal, contact after-sales support (cs@creality.com) and provide a video of the issue for further confirmation.
-
If the indicator lights are normal, troubleshoot as follows:
- Confirm the computer’s wireless adapter is working properly and supports Wi-Fi 6 connections.
- Test with another computer to rule out Wi-Fi compatibility, system, or driver issues.
- Check the environment: a large number of nearby WiFi or 2.4G wireless devices can cause signal suppression. Move to a different environment away from interference sources and search again.
- Refer to the “Set or Reset Password for Wireless Handles” guide to reset the Scan Bridge and WiFi Wireless Bridge.
- If all the above steps fail, contact after-sales support (cs@creality.com) for further troubleshooting.
- Check the scanner’s power supply and cable connections. Make sure the scanner itself powers on normally. If you have a computer, try connecting the scanner via USB first to confirm it can be recognized and scanned. If not, the problem may be with the scanner itself.
- In CrealityScan, try to manually connect to the Scan Bridge / WiFi Wireless Bridge.
Go to Settings → Device Management in the upper-right corner of the software home page and check whether the Scan Bridge / WiFi Wireless Bridge appears. If the software only recognizes the bridge but not the scanner, the issue may be a communication failure between the scanner and the Scan Bridge. Please use a different USB cable.
- Check the computer’s system settings:
- Check whether the firewall is blocking CrealityScan’s network access.
- Confirm that Windows camera privacy permissions are enabled for CrealityScan.
- Disable VPN.
¶ Issue 3: Connection Is Normal but Frame Rate Is Low and Disconnects Frequently
- Restart the Scan Bridge / WiFi Wireless Bridge and re-establish the WiFi connection.
- Change the operating environment: move away from routers, 2.4G wireless devices, and other interference sources. Shorten the distance between the phone/computer and the Scan Bridge, and reduce obstructions.
- If the issue persists after restarting and changing the environment, refer to “How to upload 3D Scanner log”, export the logs, and contact after-sales support (cs@creality.com) for further troubleshooting.
