Belt tension directly affects the stability of the printer's motion system. A belt that is too loose or too tight can affect print quality, resulting in issues such as ringing artifacts, abnormal motion, or reduced positioning accuracy.
The belt tension detection feature helps check the current tension status of the X/Y-axis belts. When abnormal tension is detected, you can manually adjust the belt according to the on-screen instructions to restore it to the appropriate range.
If the printer is operating normally and print quality is satisfactory, frequent belt adjustment is generally not necessary.
After entering the manual belt tension adjustment page, the system will monitor belt vibration. After the user plucks the belt as instructed on the screen, the system will assess the current tension status based on the belt's vibration frequency and display the detection result:
In simple terms:
Pluck the belt → System detects vibration frequency → Determines belt tension status.
Navigate to:
Settings → Maintenance → Manual Belt Tension Adjustment
Adjust according to the result:
Too Loose: Tighten the adjustment screw slightly;
Too Tight: Loosen the adjustment screw slightly;
Normal: No further adjustment needed;
When the detection result shows Normal, the current adjustment is complete.
The belt adjustment ports are located on the white frames on the left and right sides of the back of the machine. When facing the back of the machine:
Please operate through the adjustment holes on the white frame. Do not turn the fixing screws on the black back panel.
In the "Manual Belt Tension Adjustment" interface, select either the upper belt or lower belt, pluck the corresponding belt as prompted, and check the detection result.
Wait for the machine to stop moving and confirm that the interface has entered the stage that allows manual operation, then go to the back of the machine to locate the corresponding adjustment port:
| The belt that needs to be adjusted | Adjustment port position |
| Upper belt | When facing the back of the machine, the adjustment hole on the white frame on the left side. |
| Lower belt | When facing the back of the machine, the adjustment hole on the right white frame |
Insert an H2.5 allen wrench into the adjustment hole, confirm that the wrench is properly inserted into the internal adjustment screw and seated firmly before proceeding, to avoid slipping.
Adjust the corresponding screw based on the detection result:
Only make small adjustments at a time. Do not rotate the screw continuously by a large amount, and do not unscrew it completely. Only adjust the currently selected belt at a time to avoid confusion.
After adjustment, remove the wrench first, then pluck the belt you just adjusted as prompted on the screen, and wait for the new detection result.
If the other belt also needs adjustment, switch to the corresponding belt in the interface and repeat the above steps.
No.
A belt that is too loose will affect motion accuracy, but a belt that is too tight can also increase motion resistance and mechanical load.
Therefore, the belt should be adjusted to the normal range recommended by the system, rather than being tightened as much as possible.
Re-detection is recommended.
Manual adjustment only changes the belt tension; re-detection confirms whether the tension after adjustment has returned to the normal range.
Please pluck the belt again with normal force, avoiding finger pressure that is too light, too heavy, or causing slipping.
No.
Frequent detection is not necessary under normal usage conditions. Detection is only recommended after extended use, transportation, or maintenance, or when obvious print quality issues arise.
