¶ Description
K1 Series multi-color upgrade kit with integrated cutter extruder is only compatible with the integrated hotend. In the early production of K1 and K1 Max, some machines were shipped with separate hotend assembly. The old separate hotend assembly is not suitable for the K1 series multi-color upgrade kit.
¶ How to Distinguish?
How to quickly distinguish between integrated hotend kit and separate hotend assembly?
By appearance. The integrated hotend kit doesn't have no set screws installed at the heat sink position (Figure 1), while the separate hotend assembly has set screws installed at the heat sink position. As shown in the figure2 & figure3:
