Due to the high feeding resistance of the PTFE tube in the Ender-5 Max, printing TPU from the printer's built-in spool holder may result in empty extrusion and insufficient extrusion.
Therefore, the following steps are necessary when printing TPU:
Note: This method cannot use the Filament Detector Kit Function. You can insert a short piece of filament into the Filament Detector Kit or choose to ignore the Filament Detector Kit when printing.
Open the upper cover of the printer and feed from the top of the machine, not through the printer's PTFE tube. The filament spool should be higher than the printer.
Fix the original PTFE tube of the printer to prevent it from scratching the model during printing.
Since TPU easily gets moisture, please use newly opened filament or dry it before use. Otherwise, defects such as printing stringiness and poor surface quality may occur.
Choose TPU with a hardness of 95A or above, such as the common TPU95A/TPU64D.
