Error code 2849 (Retract issue, filament cannot be returned to CFS hub) occurs during filament retraction. Upon inspection, the filament end is found stuck in the buffer and cannot be pulled out.
The buffer has four routes. If you encounter the following situation and you only have one CFS, you can temporarily leave it as is. The PTFE tube can be inserted into one of the remaining three tube connectors.
Clogged nozzle, causing the extruder to deform the filament when feeding downwards
The cutter failed to cut the filament
Remove the buffer fixing screws.
Take a waste card and gently pry open along the middle seam of the buffer casing. As the buffer is assembled with clasps, be mindful of their positions when prying open with the card to avoid damaging the casing by using excessive force.
After opening, be careful not to lose the springs and connectors. Use cutting pliers to cut the expanded jammed filament, then pull out the other filaments. Finally, reassemble and securely install the buffer.
