¶ Funtions of the ruler
let virtual 3D models to obtain real-world size proportions
- Scale calibration
When reconstructing the model through 3D scanning, only the "shape" can be restored,but cannot get the ”size". The ruler provides a reference with a known length(e.g.,40cm)，based on which the software converts the relative model into a real-world scaled model. - Accuracy improvement
The ruler can correct proportional deviations caused by lens error or shooting angle, and ensured the reliable dimensions of the models. - Measurement reference
Once the scene is correctly calibrated, users will be able to measure the distance,area or volume in reconstructed 3D and obtain values consistent with reality in the future.
¶ Operation steps
a. Select the "Blue Laser Mode"-"Scan Mode"-"Global Marker"
b. Click the Photogrammetry switch to off.
c. Open photogrammetry and add rulers: Scan the QR codes on the rulers included with the X1 device (Currently supports up to 2 rulers).
d.After the global marker scan recognizes the rulers, the ruler numbers 1-2 and 3-4 will be displayed with connecting lines, indicating that the rulers have been successfully identified and activated.
e.After completing the global marker scan, click "Pointcloud Scan" and then select the "OK".
f. After entering the pointcloud scan mode, remove the ruler from the surface of the object. Once you confirm that the position and number of the marker points on the frame remain unchanged during the scanning process, you can start scanning.
If the relur was originally placed out of the scanned object,you don’t need to remove it and can scan it directly, as shown in the image below:
g. The scanning accuracy obtained at this time will be higher than that of scanning without rulers. Subsequent operations can be performed according to the normal scanning and processing steps.
